I was filling eggs for our Easter egg hunt earlier this week. A young girl, maybe 6 year old, came in a started talking to me. She explained to me that she couldn’t come to our egg hunt because it would probably be the same day as the one at her school and, of course, she couldn’t miss that. Her dad came in the room and they ended up at our checker board.

Dad patiently explained the ropes as they played. It was all very serious until….I heard a giggle. The little girl had finally been able to jump one his men. Every time she scored another victory her giggles got a little louder and a little longer. I’m pretty sure dad let her win just to hear that laughter – I know I would have!

Stop and enjoy the simple pleasures. It’s amazing how much a simple little girl giggle can brighten your day.
